I Do Belive in Faries, I Do, I Do!

So, here is my version of a Tinkerbell cake.  I had two designs in mind that were dependent upon what resources I could find.  One was to do Tinkerbell in a flower, but that was if I could locate a Tinkerbell candle in time, which I could not.  The second was to do Tinkerbell in the form of a princess cake, and of course my love for huge princess ball gowns had nothing to do with it....ahem, yeah.  So anyway, this cake consisted of a Wilton wonder mold pan that was torted and two 10" round cakes that were torted.  The cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream filling.  The outside was covered in fondant and all of the details were fondant. The sign at the front was made of gumpaste and hand painted with edible paint and had teeny tiny little handmade roses on it. The Tinkerbell is a doll that I wrapped in plastic.  Oh, and I use the whole doll by the way too, so that the birthday girl gets to play with it after the cake gets eaten.  And.....she even has Pixie Dust on her!

This cake will feed quite a lot too...somewhere around 30 or so.

Now, if I had had more time (my fault for not planning sooner) and an unlimited budget,  I would have loved to do more of a Pixie Hollow theme with this cake.  I love the movies based on this!

I have to apologize for the pictures on this one.  The board was 18x18 trimmed in yellow ribbon, and  I was afraid that if I moved the cake around too much I would mess up the ribbon and grass.

Anyhoo, I had a ball making it..........and I would love to make more if anyone wants to give me a shout because I am officially in love with Pixie Hollow and all of the fairy dresses and critters!

Just click on the pictures to see them a little better.

Let's fly away to Pixie Hollow and Never Never Land together Tink!
