1-1-11

I had the great honor of making this cake for a friend's daughter's wedding today for 1-1-11. The groom is from Korea so they wanted an Asian theme with a fan, shoes, chopsticks, and cherry blossoms. I loved the way it turned out, and hopefully they did too. I handmade all of the cherry blossoms and the sugar and topper pieces out of gumpaste. I also added a honeymoon cake that had the same theme, but I forgot to take a picture of it.  The wedding took place at The Barn Events, in Townsend, and it was absolutely beautiful!  I highly recommend them.  I hope to have a link for the photographer soon, but please note that the pictures below were taken by me, not a professional!
Thanks for looking!

I made tiny sugar pieces to go around the edges also.

Sugar pieces patiently waiting to go on top of the cake.
