I absolutely loved this cake! I loved it so much that I did not want to give it away. But, it was going to a very sweet lady who is retiring from many years as an elementary school teacher. I wanted to do something extra special and sweet for her as a thank you, and this is what I came up with. This was not the original design I drew up, but it just kind of evolved over the three days I worked on it. I really think it was Divine intervention!
I heard the party was a surprise to her and that not only was she excited about the party, but that she was so taken with the cake, she did not want to cut it. The other ladies finally persuaded her to let them cut it, but they only took tiny portions so that she could take it home to show her family. That made my day! That is the whole reason I do this. I love to make people happy and to bring joy and sweetness to their lives. And how sweet those ladies where to only eat a tiny amount so she could have the rest.
Details are - white butter cake with buttercream filling, covered in fondant. All of the embellishments on this cake are edible. It took three days and many Disney movies to do it all, and I loved every second of it. Thanks to Nana, for giving me the opportunity to do this! And thanks to God for the inspiration and ability to do it!
The reception was held at One Tree Grill in Bearden, and it was beautiful!
Thanks for looking and Happy Retirement Mrs. Dake!

Deep in the Heart of Texas!
This was the groom's cake to go with the Ivory and Brown wedding cake. The groom is from Texas. This cake was a welcome change from all the piping. :o)
Ivory and Brown
Here is a cake I just delivered today. Ivory with brown hand piping details. Please note that the cake is not finished in this picture. I had just stacked it, and had not covered the seams with icing yet! I will post the good pictues later when I can manage to get them off the camera. The reception was held at The Foundry, and it was very pretty. Their is a very large and beautiful fireplace behind the wedding cake table, and I wish I could have seen it lit with the cakes in front of it.
Gerbera Daisy Wedding Cake
This cake was for last weekend. What a beautiful location! The wedding was in the backyard of the bride's parent"s home. You could see the lake from the wedding tents. This cake was pretty large - enough to feed 120 or so people. The beautiful flowers were provided by Leonard of "Always in Bloom".
